Weekend

This past weekend was full and pretty busy!  Friday night a friend of ours came over and hung out for awhile.  Steve made homemade Fajitas and they were yummy!  I was tired and was in bed by 10pm!

Saturday, Steve had Jen's soccer games all day, so I was home and did my weekly chores.  Dusting, cleaning the hardwood floors, laundry, clean the bathrooms....the usual!!  I also made homemade chicken noodle soup and it turned out beatimus as always!!  (I'm still eating on it 2 days later)...yummo!

Sunday morning I had to get up early as I went with Mom and some of her American Legion friends the the annual Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Race for a Cure walk!  The weather started out chilly, as our walk started at 8am, but it turned out the be a gorgeous morning/day!  (3 degrees from a record at 85)  YAY!

*The pictures downloaded in a different order, and taken with my cell phone*

As you can see, it was a very dramatic event, for sure!!!!  There were about 50,000 people who participated in the race, raising around 1 million dollars!!  Many many people had pink signs on their backs with Memory or Celebration of someone they know that had or has breast cancer.  Everywhere you walked, you would read the names of REAL people...some didn't make it, some are survivors.  Many of the survivors also walked, and they were represented with all pink shirts.  I have to tell you, there were a few times during the day that I got a little emotional!  I was so glad I went, and be sure I will be back next year for sure!!!
It was hard to capture the "sea" of  people that were there, but trust me...we were a sight to see!!!  Now I just have to go get my mamagram.  Honestly, it scares me.  But it is something I must do....Ladies, it is something we ALL must do!
When I got home around noon yesterday....yes we walked probably 4-5 miles total for the day and was still home by noon....I have to say I was a little tired!!  I rested on the couch for a little while, then got up and watched some of the race and the Bronco game....fussed around a bit, but really took it pretty easy!! Ha!  I took a nice hot bath which felt awesome!!
Steve made Chicken Cordon Bleu and Twice Baked Potatoes for supper and it was really good!  I should post the recipe sometime....it is SO EASY!!  I mean EASY and we all like that, huh?  Well, that was my weekend wrap up.  Now it's another work week started back to the grind!  Looking forward and NOT looking forward to my Birthday, but I can't stop them......another year older...ughhh!

Have a good week everyone!  (or like 3 of you.....haha!  My tens of thousands of blog followers!!)
