Jodi's BD weekend

Ok, so shoot me.  I deserve it.  Totally.  It has been 4 nights since I have returned from an awesome BD trip to the BIG IDA GROVE for Jodi's 30th surprise party, and I am just now posting.  Ugghhh.

We started off with our flight to Omaha on Saturday afternoon.  Sorry, no pics of the airport or anything....

We arrived in Omaha and went to get our rental car.  Who the heck knew that they would NOT take a debit card OR cash!? So that was an issue in itself.  We got our car and it happened to be a KIA Soul!  Really? Shoot, I'm 49 years old..I dont' really think a car that the advertising has little freaking hamsters driving and jamming to the tunes is really our style!?  Seriously?  Dude at the Avis check in....I know you had dreads and corn rows....what made you think that the Soul would be our choice of a car??  Seriously?

We got to Jodi's and her and Adam were in Sioux City having a little shopping trip (slash) dinner date for her BD.  While they were gone, we did all the decorating and got all the food ready!  We were all SO excited!!

Candi and Ryan.  Her friends were so awesome and came for her BD surprise!  They live like 2 1/2 hours away, drove to IG for the party, and then drove back!  Then I find out that Candi left to drive to Dallas soon after!  Jodi has the best friends ever!!!

This is Katie.  This child has been like a daughter to me.  Her and Jodi have been friends since they were 2, so....do the math....that is 28 years!  Her soul is outstanding.......love Katie!

Brianne and Adam.  What a SWEET SWEET couple!  I have known Bri for many years and I just love the fact that Jodi is still close with her "homies" from HS!  Aren't they cute?  Love them!

The whole theme of the party was "Luau"!  This is the cake my baby Jamie made.  Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen?  Flip Flop cake on a bed of graham cracker sand!!!  (I'm so proud)  Look at what is next!

Look at these (freakin') Beach Cupcakes!!  Are you serious?  There is one half sand, one half water and then the gumball beachball and the umbrella!!  Really?  Oh Jamie....you have discovered your calling!!  They were adorable and I was soooo impressed!  (Are these two really my  children?  HA)

Bottom line, Steve and I had a great time in the big IG!  On Sunday, we went and saw the Moorehead House / Stage Coach Inn and it was a fabulous time!  It just so happened that there was a gal there getting ready for the Open House THIS weekend!  It was cool.....If anyone is reading this from IG, I highly recommend you go see this place this weekend!  It is Great!

Well, that is it for now..................................I am needing to go nigh night because I am off to North Platte Nebraska tomorrow for the weekend to meet up with 2 Aunts and my Cousin!  Should be a fun time!  I will be sure to take pics and blog soon!
