Some new finds!

When a person moves into a new place, which is bigger - you have to start finding things to fill the extra rooms!  Our condo had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and kitchen/dining area.  A total of 850 sf!  Our new house has another bedroom and a huge family room that I have to find things for!  My office/dressing bedroom was previously a little boys room.  It has blue and white walls and of course I can't really change the wall color so I have to live with it!  The guest bedroom downstairs we have to start from scratch as far as furnishings go and I have found a couple things to get started-we just have to get a bed and a few decorator touches and it will be done!  The following pics are of some amazing things I have picked up lately!  Now I just have to get it all put together!!

We found this dresser at an antique shop close by.  We thought it was kind of funky!!  It is totally the shabby sheik look that we wanted!  This is before...along with a pic of the drawer fronts.

I love the handles!

I actually found this little table at the DAV (Goodwill) right before we moved.  It was a whopping $7.00!

This is the dresser after we sanded and painted it!  We used the original handles and spray painted them a metallic bronze!  I love how it turned out and will be cute in the guest room!

Cute couple!!!  I plan on doing the room in cream, brown and accent with turqoise!

Look at this guy!  HA!  I actually literally picked him up off the side of the road!  Someone had him out in a pile of "free" stuff, so I just had to load him up!  We have some really nice vines and foliage on our back fence, so I am going to hang him back there!  He will look awesome!  I just wish there was a way to get rid of the Corona beer bottle though!  But, Oh well!

Moving on to my office/dressing room....I found these cuties at Gordman's!  Seriously, I (HEART) that store!  The giraffe was $7.99, the zebra was $4.99 and the elephants were $2.99!  Sorry for the bad pic..it was the only one I took!  But aren't they cute?  Remember a few posts back where I showed my valances in this room?  Zebra?

I also found this at Gordman's as well!  $6.99!  It will be handy for storage in my desk area!

Look at this silk table lamp!  Again, Gordman's for $14.99!  It will be awesome for a desk lamp!

Last but not least, this grass floor thingy!  There were so many to choose from, I almost wish I would have gotten a darker one, but it will work fine!  Yes....Gordman's $19.99!  Now I just have to get it all put together...I would like to get a small credenza with some wicker storage baskets, so I have my eye open for something inexpensive!  I don't have a lot of money for decorating, so I am always looking for a bargain!  I think I did pretty well so far!

*****As I was blogging, I got a call from my sister Lisa.  Mom has been having severe abdominal pain for the past couple days.  She went to her Dr today and as I am typing this, she is undergoing a CAT scan at the hospital.  She will go to her Dr again tomorrow and he will do an ultrasound.  Please pray that nothing is majorly wrong with her!  She has never been sick and I can't stand the thought of something being wrong with her!  Please pray for Judy......******
