The great turtle caper.......

Ok, so I hope the pictures format like I want them too... It is imperative that they do for this post.  If not, I implore you to have to figure it out on your own....sorry.

This is Toby.  Let me begin with the beginning.  A few weeks ago, Mom and Jerry went on a big camping trip.  10 days to be exact.  It was my job/obligation to stop in once in awhile and check in on Callie and Abby....Mom's two cats.  One particular visit, I see this cute adorable ceramic turtle on the patio.  I said to myself...."Self?  This turtle is adorable!!"  I fell in love immediatley.

So, no big deal.  After Mom and Jerry returned from their 10 day camping escapade, I went to their house and had a nice 2 hour vistit with said Mom.  I mentioned how much I loved that new turtle!

Conversation:

Me:  Mom, that turtle is awesome!  Where did you get it?

Mom:  Well, I was in Gordmans the other day and spotted him.  He was on Clearance for only $12.00! 

Me:  Wow!  What an awesome find!  He is simply cute as s**t! I love him!

Mom:  Well, if you go to Gordmans, they have them.  Only when I was there, maybe there were 4 more.

Me:  OH.

Fast forward to yesterday....Tuesday, July 6th.

Steve and I went to Mom and Jerry's for dinner.  What a great time we had!  They are both so cool to hang out with and I love it!!  Well, Steve and I had a plan.  I WANTED THAT TURTLE, so we decided to kidnap him!  I sent her an email from Turtlenabber1o1@gmail.com listing our demands.

I waited all day today to hear from her and nothing!  Well, I convinced her to look at the email, as she said " I deleted it!  I had Hacker written all over it!"

Ugggg!

Well, she partially opened it and called me.  I told her it would be ok...it was not a hacker.

Our conversation:

Mom:  Did you take my turtle?

Me:  No, I was forwarded this kidnapping email.. and I thought you would take it more seriously! 

Mom:  Well, I thought it was a hacker so I deleted it right away.

Me:  Well, ha ha....Mom...really?

Mom:  What's going on?

Me:  ( I just couldnt take it anymore)  Yes, Mom...Steve and I kidnapped your turtle!

Mom:  Huh?  What?

Me: Ok, open the email and read.

Mom:  Oh...(laugh laugh laugh)  That is too funny!  I'm so sorry I didn't play along with you!

Me:  Yea, well, we thought it would be funny...and you were too skeptical!  Ha!

Mom:  Wow...you guys went to alot of trouble. 

Me:  Yea, we kidnapped your turtle, took pictures with todays newspaper, set up a fake email address and sent you a ransom email! Ha!

Mom:  Well, since you went to all that trouble, I guess you an keep him.  I was out painting all day, put things back in order and still NEVER even missed the little guy!

Me:  Well, I was going to offer you $5 more than what you paid for him, but now that you never even missed him being gone...that's out the window.  Consider it a housewarming gift, and I will take care of him and give him a good home!

This is just one of the 4 pictures we sent her.....we had such a good time trying to mess with her!!!  HAHA!

Love ya Mom....and we will know next time...just to either ask you for it, or just pay you right then and there!

Bottom line:  I have this amazing turtle that I fell in love with....Mom didn't even miss him for almost 24 hours, and he looks AWESOME in my rocks!!!
