April 2011 - In a Nutshell

I have been such a slacker blogging lately!  I don't know what has gotten into me-maybe it is because there really isn't anything too exciting that goes on in my life on a day-to-day basis!  BUT, I have done a few things here in the month of April, so I will post A LOT of pics for you!  Ready?  Here we go!!

One weekend we had Steve's kids and it was such a beautiful Saturday, we decided to head downtown to the 16th street mall!  We walked around and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  Here are some pictures I took that day.

On April 14th, I flew to Iowa to visit with the girls, my boys and my GRANDBABIES!  I had such a great time, I can't even explain!  Some times when I go visit, there are things to do, there is a particular reason for the trip.  This time, was just BECAUSE...and it was bliss!  We did so many fun things, but then we were able to just relax and have good one on one time!

When I left, it was rainy, cold and icky here in Denver.  As we got going (in my 1 hour flight) we were of course above the clouds and it was so lovely!  When I landed, it was cold, rainy and icky in Omaha as well, and the whole time I was in Iowa, it was cold, rainy and ICKY!  But that didn't stop us from having fun!

A few days before I flew out, a tornado hit a town about 25 miles from Ida Grove...on our way back from Omaha, we stopped and delivered some hopefully much needed supplies for the residents of that small town.  Here are some pictures I took from the van....I really didn't feel like getting out and being a gawker when they were all trying to repair their lives!  God be with these people and luckily no one was seriously injured....(or at least that is what I know)

It was so erie driving around...but they are good midwest folk, and will rebuild and come back even stronger.....God Bless them all.

This picture kind of cracks me up.  Jodi has a picture like this on her blog and I have always loved it....it is NOT as good as hers, but I tried!

Ok, on to much happier things!  My visit in Iowa!!

Miss Brylie Boo...if she isn't the cutest thing?  What a good baby she is too! Always has a smile on her face!

My Ellie bean with her new laptop!  Hey Ellie, Nana doesn't even have one!  Lucky girl! I love this child.......what can I say!

Blakers.....he is such a big boy!  I can't believe how fast he is growing!  Love that boy to pieces!

Malia Pia!  Too cute for words, and too smart for her own good!  She is going to definately go places in her life!  What a funny girl!!  I love her syle!

Miss Kendra boo....oh my.  As she gets older, you can just see how sweet her soul is!  She is so smart and like I said.......sweet sweet sweet!  My heart melts!

I finally got to see Blake at his Tai-kwan-do practice and he was just adorable in his white uniform and his orange belt!  My pictures all turned out horrible...I don't know what setting I was on.....so no pics of the little man doing his thing!  I also got to go watch Ellie practice at dance.  I watched Ballet and Jazz!  She did SO GOOD!  I chose this picture, because I thought it was funny how she looked bored...but belive me...she did really really well!

Friday night we went to Sioux City to the circus.  Before that we all went to dinner at Olive Garden.  I was so good!  I was such a happy Nana....all of my grandbabies were so well behaved!  It was the start to a great evening!

Not a great picture, but after the OG, we went the Shrine Circus!  It was a little lame, but hey....I enjoyed it!  Blake and I sat together most of the night and me and the little man had such a great time! It was nice to have him still and quiet for a little bonding time....just precious.  (this is an elephant...in case you can't see...ha!)

Saturday we let the kiddos decorate cupcakes.....little miss sweet soul is having a ball!

Having fun! They all did such a great job too!  (ok, I have a little confession to make - I had a couple cupcakes, but I made sure I ate Ellies.....she was the only one who wasn't wiping snot or licking their fingers while decorating!  BUT I STILL GOT SICK!  More on that later......
Also on Saturday, Ellie and Malia both had pictures for dance and tumbling throughout the day...they looked so cute in their costumes!  My pics AGAIN didn't turn out so great, but I know Jodi will post when they have their recitals!

Saturday night, we just all hung out at home.  I had just gotten an iPhone a few days earlier, Jodi and Adam got iPhones the day before....we all sat around on our iPhones, the kids on DS's...it was too funny!  I downloaded Angry Birds....how addicting is that?  I have also downloaded books for Kindle, and a few other things that I think are awesome!  I love the phone!

Sunday we let the kids decorate Easter eggs!  They had such a great time and they all did such a great job!  They all love to do artsy craftsy things together and makes this Nana happy to see them all having fun together!

Sunday night, we all had dinner at Jamie and Seth's house.  She made homemade lasagne and it was so good!  I don't have a single picture of me and my new doo, or of Adam or Seth!  I have a lot to learn about taking photos, that's for sure!
Here are a couple more pics of my two little ones.  When you have 6 grandchildren - 5 of this Earth and 1 in Heaven, you have to make sure you don't play favorites and have equal time for all!

And, these two....what can I say?  I have the best daughters any Mother could ever have!  I learn so much from them.......instead of the other way around!  I love you guys so much!

Needless to say, I had the best visit with them!  I can't wait until next time and I hope you all come out here this Summer!  More fun times and great experiences/memories for my grandbabies!

I will leave with this.  As with every human being, there are trials and tribulations that we all experience.  I am kind of going through some things at this moment.  I won't elaborate on them at this time, but I just ask that you pray for a little strength for me at this time!  I would love it!  Plus, I sure could use it!! ha!

Hopefully, it won't be as long between posts as it has been lately.....
Be back soon!!

Oh, I will post about Easter soon!  So sick, so no pictures...but Lisa and Keith had a wonderful get-together!
