We arrived at about 2:00pm on Saturday. Here is the quaint little place I found online. It is called the Pinion Motel/Cabins and we couldn't have been happier! It was exactly what we were looking for!
Ok, so the pics went all whacky, so I will explain. The above picture was our little cabin. We loved it!
Some outside decor
Our little Kitchen
Our main room. Sorry so messy, but it was little!
We just hung around the cabin on Saturday, and then on Sunday, we walked to the old town district and ran across a car show! We were both pretty impressed! There were about 120 cars entered and a vast array of different makes and models. We put our breakfast plans on hold and walked around the show for a couple hours. I had almost 130 pictures, but I only chose a few of my favs....I knew you'd get bored...ha!
A Mustang Mach I
The beautiful views from EVERY angle of the town!
This was my FAVORITE car! OMG...I fell in love!
This was Steve's fav. A Lamborghini!
As we were walking around the town, we ran across this sign. It was too funny not to take a pic and post! Really?
As I said, the pictures all downloaded in the arrangement of uploading....this pic was at the Bluegrass concert...more on that in a moment.... I thought this was cute. The poor dog was like sliding down the hill on the gravel and didn't even care!
Back to my favorite car. I would love to have this car!!! I'm not normally a car nut, but this baby stole my heart!
Ok, the Bluegrass concert I spoke about. This was right along the Arkansas River and it was so beautiful! Steve went down riverside and took a few shots. Just an awesome sight!
A pic of the Festival
We saw this dog a few times while walking around. We had never seen this breed of dog before. I can't remember what it was, but some sort of French herding dog. Very rare. Her name was "Peek-A-Boo", but Steve and I called her Alf! HAHA!
The band was so good! I just love me some Bluegrass with the stand up bass, guitar and the mandolin? I really enjoyed the music. Steve however, could live without it. But that's probably why we get along so well....we compromise!
The Arkansas River is very popular this time of year for the Kayaking and River Rafing. No thank you, very much....but this guy was showing off in the rapids the whole time the band was playing and then I think he pooped out, because he finally came ashore. This type of activity just amazes me. If I was living out here 20-30 years ago, I may have tried some of the outdoor stuff here in Colorado, but at almost 50, I'm content to just watch.
All in all, we had a MARVELOUS time! We will definately be going back in the near future to relax and drink in some good ol' mountian town hospitality!
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!!
