Teeth,Skype and a Blast from the Past!

Well, I haven't posted much lately.  Not too much going on with me since Christmas/New Year's, so I thought I better get on the ball!  I had been battling gut wrenching, debilitaing, earth shattering tooth pain since right before Christmas...oh that is the worst!  I had two babies with NO drugs and I have to say a major toothache is far worse!  Yup, I said it.  Unbelievable.  It altered my life big time.  Well, I wanted to hold off until after the Holidays, so I sucked it up, took a lot of Ibruprofin and mustered my way until now.  Last Friday I went in to the Dentist and had two teeth pulled.  One was a wisdom tooth, so no biggie.  Feels so much better now!  I still have a lot of work to be done and I will do it. I have always despised the Dentist.  When I was 15, I had a root canal done in one of my front teeth, and Dr. (who shall remain nameless) proceeded without novacaine!  Thanks Dr!  I will forever be deathly afraid of the Dentist from now on!  I will be turning the big 5-0 this year and it's time to really take a look at my body.  You only get one set of teeth, and I don't want to lose any more!

A week or so ago, I got all hooked up on Skype.  Jodi and Jamie are too and it is so nice to be able to actually see them all when we talk!  I love it!  I don't know why we didn't get this going sooner!  I would highly recommend it if you have loved ones far away!

Here is my Ellie Bean talking to her Nana!  Hi Ellie!

The other day, Mom gave me a bag with all kinds of older pictures and little items from my childhood.  Oh that was fun to look through!  Ha!  I will probably from time to time post a few things that I think are "post-able" for your viewing pleasure!  Here is the first

I have no idea how old I was when I drew this.  But it was obviously a drawing for my Uncle Randy.  Now it says Lori on the top, but I think that this was my rendition of Santa Claus!  Bears a small resemblence to the old guy, don't you think?  Let's say I was 4 when I drew this.  That would make this little drawing 46 years old!  Ha!

This one has been a classic for EVER!  I think I was in about 3rd grade and I joined a Stamp Of The Month Club - Littleton Stamp Company.  I can kind of remember getting the stamps in the mail...thinking it was pretty cool.  Well, that all changed when they sent the bill.  Mom said it was like $17.00, which was a lot of money back then.  Mom was pretty upset with me for doing something like this, so she made me sit down and write a letter to the Littleton Stamp Company.  She also called them and explained that they were dealing with a 3rd grade girl, and therefore cannot enter into a contract with me, so I assumed they dropped the issue. Obviously she never sent this letter to the Littleton Stamp Company, but instead tucked it away for posterity, to turn up again some 40 years later!  I just had to share....I think it's too funny.

  2. I will have to turn up the volume. Last night we went out for Dinner, so I wasn't home. Then came home and paid bills and blogged.
